NOTES: North of Berlin near Dixville Notch in the northern tip of New Hampshire, the family-oriented Balsams ski area has 16 runs spread over 87 acres accessing a maximum vertical descent of 1,000 feet. It has exciting runs of up to two miles long, all at the highest base elevation in the East. Looking for adventure? Theres also limitless backcountry in the surrounding region.
Tip - stay at the Resort Hotel and lift tickets are free.
To reach Balsams Wilderness from the south, head north on US93 over Franconia Notch to Exit #35. Follow SR3 to Colebrook. Head east on SR26 for 11 miles to Dixville Notch where Balsams Wilderness ski area is located.
